About us
We are a company specialized in the optimized design and production of custom models, mechanical patterns for foundry, mechanical processing, and customized solutions. Our production process is fully vertically integrated to best meet the needs of our clients. We create tailor-made projects and oversee the entire production cycle, up to the technical measurement of the finished product.
Our History
Our history begins in 1954 with Giuseppe Bonalume, the founder who created and developed the company with passion and dedication, transforming it into a solid artisanal reality. In 1979, his son Giampierluigi increased the company’s visibility, making it more precise and high-performing, expanding the customer base, and establishing relationships with prominent names in various industrial sectors. Starting from 2000, Emilio and Giovanni Bonalume, the sons, continued the business by offering quality models for excellent productions. They combined the experience and accumulated know-how over time with constant innovation, leveraging investments made over the past twenty years.
For three generations, we have been creating, modifying, and repairing patterns and core boxes in wood, resin, aluminum, cast iron, and steel, adapting to the clients’ needs and the technical specifications of foundries. Our goal is to achieve excellent products that enable efficient production with reduced maintenance and waste.
Custom Models for Foundries and Precision Machining
Each project is tailored to fit, starting from an idea, a sketch, a paper drawing, or a 3D file provided by the client. Our company features a cutting-edge technical office equipped with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for creating 2D and 3D digital designs, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software for generating the programs used in our proprietary CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining centers. Our advanced CNC machining centers allow for intricate and automated milling operations with utmost precision, ensuring high-quality results.
What is CNC milling? Milling is a material processing method that involves chip removal. Unlike turning, where the workpiece rotates around its own axis, in milling, it’s the tool, often with multiple cutting edges, that rotates. Chip removal is achieved by moving the milling cutter across the surface of the workpiece or by moving the workpiece relative to a stationary tool.
Our Workshop
In our workshop, we have 5 CNC machining centers with 3 and 5 axes, which we use to create patterns and perform mechanical operations through CNC milling, with a maximum working envelope of:
X Axis 1400 mm – Y Axis 700 mm – Z Axis 600 (H)
Today, the machining processes take place in a controlled temperature environment, thanks to a state-of-the-art air conditioning system recently installed. This enables us to enhance the level of precision in the mechanical operations we carry out.
Sustainability and Innovation
Combining innovation with sustainability, our latest investment made in June 2023 was the installation of a 24 kWp photovoltaic system on the roof of our warehouse. With this choice, we aim to contribute to preserving the planet and to mitigate potential energy price increases experienced in recent years, thus striving to keep our costs as consistent as possible.
